Last weekend, I had the opportunity to stay at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. While I was there for other reasons, I took the opportunity to take some photos of a spot that would be lovely for a wedding. The Resort is beautiful and just a 10 minute walk to the beach. A late-Spring, Summer or early-Fall wedding at the Resort would be perfect given the climate in Southern California. Guests would enjoy the beauty of the resort, which also has a golf course, a. botanical garden and a spa.
Since I was there for other reasons, I did not inquire as to the price for weddings. Many venues have reduced prices for mid-week weddings. My advice if you are interested in this venue is to call to get that information. They may also have seasonal rates, and given that Southern California never really gets cold, it might even be a good venue for the late-Fall or Winter months.
My room had a patio that lead to a grass area that could be used for an outdoor wedding and the wedding party or guests could book the rooms just outside of the area, for a more private and family oriented gathering.
These photos are of the stairwell where the Bride would appear and begin her journey to meet the groom. Guests can be seated on either side of the walkway.
The following providesa little more perspective to the size of the location where the ceremony could take place and the side-view.
This area could also be converted into the reception area and where the ceremony took place could be converted to a dance floor.
I enjoyed my stay at the Resort and I believe that it would serve as a lovely venue for an upscale wedding. And having a spa on sight would allow the bridal party to relax and celebrate a few days before the wedding.
