In my quest to find an outdoor wedding site, and because I love gardens, I visited the Fullerton Arboretum yesterday.  Their website has nice photos of some of the weddings that were held there.  

The Fullerton Arboretum is close to the 57 Freeway, and on the Cal State University Fullerton campus, adjacent to the Titan baseball field. The 26-acre site has various locations for outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions.  

I found one open field near a lake. The first photo is of a stream meeting the lake where you can get a glimpse of the open field.  The second is from the open field, referred to as the South Lake.  

There was also a large lawn, referred to as the South Lawn, which would be suitable  for a large wedding. I also liked the fact that the area was flat, as it might be easier for some guests’ navigation.  

My favorite spot was the Arbor. This would be an ideal spot for the ceremony.  The photos on the left are the view of the Arbor where the bride would begin her journey to meet her groom.  The photo on the right would be the bride’s journey.  She would meet her groom at the end, under a tree.

The Bacon Pavilion is a partially covered space that could lend itself to a rustic wedding reception.  The photos on the left are from the inside of the covered area and the side of the covered area, to give you an idea of the space.  The photo on the right is from the entrance to the arboretum, surrounded by native California plants. This space is close to the arboretum’s entrance which is a plus for guests.  There is sufficient space for tables and a dance floor.  While the space has lights, the beams would allow for string-lights that will set the perfect ambiance for an outdoor evening reception.

If you are interested in this venue, I recommend not only viewing the website, but searching either vimeo or youtube for wedding videos taken at this arboretum.
